Epic Schedules are now posted

Dear Coaches and Managers,

YMS is pleased to present the schedules for the 2009 YMS Eastern Pennsylvania Invitational Classic (E.P.I.C.) girls’ soccer tournament. This year’s schedule includes over 200 teams playing over a three-day period at four Bucks County, PA venues. This is one of our largest turnouts in the tournament’s 21year history. With the multitude of teams playing matches in up to four divisions per age group, it becomes a challenging task of scheduling games to everyone’s satisfaction. We feel that we have scheduled very competitive games in each of our divisions, while still honoring your requests.

When creating the schedules, we tried to satisfy a couple of key areas
1. To provide a minimum of 1 game rest between playing your first and second game on Saturday / Sunday, whereas players, coaches and spectators do not have excessive gaps between their games. We take great pride in the fact that we try to get teams in and out of the park, so they don’t spend their entire day sitting in a soccer complex.
2. We fully understand that no one enjoys playing 8:00 am games, but unfortunately they are a necessity so we are able to get all of the games played on Saturday. Again, we did our very best to schedule the most local teams, with minimum travel times, with earlier games where appropriate.
3. With the EPYSA State Cup games and NJ State Cup games being played over Mother’s Day weekend, we did our best to honor and accommodate those special scheduling requests, so teams could play their cup games and still have the opportunity to play in the EPIC. Unfortunately, these requests affected other teams in their brackets. We hope that you understand that our decisions were made in the best interests of all of the teams participating in the EPIC.
4. With dozen of requests regarding coaching conflicts, H.S. prom conflicts, long distances traveling to our facilities, etc… we were able to successfully schedule most of the games based on the criteria listed above, unfortunately there were certain teams that it was impossible to accommodate, even with the assistance of the professional staff of GotSoccer.

At this point these posted schedules are final and no additional changes will be made (unless there is an obvious error). We appreciate your support and hope that everyone has a great weekend of soccer.

Sincerely,
Fran McDonald

MAY 8th-10th 2009

Yardley-Makefield Soccer Club will be hosting their 21st Annual All Girls Soccer Tournament on May 8th - 10th 2009.  As we go into our 21st year we once again honor long time Tournament Director and YMS coach Bob "Doc" Dougherty.  Though Bob is no longer with us, he is still remembered for his dedication to this Tournament and to the Club over the years. Once again we do this Tournament in his  memory.

The EPIC Tournament has grown to be one of the most popular tournaments in the North East. This year will be our most geographically diverse tournament to date, with teams hailing from as far north as Canada, and south through Virginia. Levels of play range from premier to competitive. All games above U-10 have a three person referee system. All teams are guaranteed at least 3 games.

We are a player friendly tournament and strive to give all the girls the most competitive play possible, at all levels. Good Luck to all the teams!

For the National Championship Series of State Cup for PA teams,  there are no games on the Tournament  weekend, so there will be no conflicts. Please visit the EPYSA website for more details. This is a wonderful opportunity for teams who want to tune up their game for state cup semi-finals and finals. For those teams who do not advance, this gives your team the opportunity to play among the best!

Location: All games will be played in and around Yardley, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
